Phil Woods

Philip Wells "Phil" Woods (2. marraskuuta 1931 Springfield, Massachusetts – 29. syyskuuta 2015) oli yhdysvaltalainen alttosaksofonisti, klarinetisti ja säveltäjä.

Woods opiskeli muun muassa Lennie Tristanon johdolla, Manhattan School of Musicissa ja Juilliard Schoolissa.

Woods johti omia yhtyeitään ja teki yhteistyötä muun muassa Charlie Barnetin, Jimmy Raneyn, George Wallingtonin, Gene Quillin, Dizzy Gillespien, Buddy Richin, Quincy Jonesin, Benny Goodmanin, Sonny Rollinsin, Benny Carterin, Thelonious Monkin, Billy Joelin, Paul Simonin, Stephane Grappellin, Louis Bellsonin, Steely Danin ja Michel Legrandin kanssa. Hän muutti vuonna 1968 Ranskaan, mutta palasi Yhdysvaltoihin 1972.

Woods voitti levytyksillään neljä Grammy-palkintoa.
